Stay: Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens

Stay: Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens

I recently returned from an amazing trip to the Hunter Valley. Previous trips to the area, although nice and relaxing, felt a little sleepy. But my stay at Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens changed my mind. The hotel is located in the middle of the action with Hunter Valley Gardens, the Smelly Cheese Shop and many wineries only a corks throw away. The hotel has it all - a cosy fireplace to cosy up to while enjoying a red from the region, as well as perfectly manicured grass and a huge pool to enjoy in summer while sipping on a crisp white. Rooms: They are spacious, clean, although a touch outdated and also have an amazing 2 person bath below a glass roof. I highly recommend a bubble bath while gazing at the stars... it is pretty darn special.

Service: The Hunter is a small country town so the service is relaxed, but everyone is friendly, helpful and always donning a smile.

Amenity: There is a great French restaurant, crystal clear outdoor pool, manicured lawns, outdoor games and a communal library with fireplace.

Location: As mentioned, it is conveniently located in walking distance to  shops and most importantly, wineries.

Value: Mercure is a midrange hotel so you won't be breaking the bank compared to the many luxury stays near by.

If you're interested in knowing more about the Hunter Valley I will be sharing more posts about where to go and what to do later in the week. In the meantime check out my photo diary from hot air ballooning over the region.

Oink oink,

Truffle Pig.
